Corus Hotel Solihull

Visited for lunch several times. Fixed price menu is exceptional value. Food this time equally as good. Whole visit spoilt by a guy on a laptop taking phone calls on loudspeaker. Apparently he was the manager!!! Does he really think friends coming for lunch and a catch-up want to hear his conversations. Very disappointed and reason for reduced star rating. Have to consider future visits.

Visited several times and this visit did not disappoint. Our party of four ordered a mix of dishes: two beef Sunday lunches, one steak, and one beef burger. Everything was absolutely delicious. The servings were generous, the food arrived hot and fresh, and each dish was full of flavour. Izzy, who served us, was fantastic — friendly, welcoming, and made us feel really looked after throughout our meal. We will definitely be returning.

I went with a friend to Harrys cafe, adjacent to Harrys bar, in the Regency hotel. Harrys cafe is actually the old Laura Ashley tea rooms section, but the whole area has been adjusted and given a new name, [with an interesting history.] The afternoon tea was really good. 4 large and very well filled finger sandwiches, per person, [cheese and pickle, egg mayo, coronation chicken, smoked salmon]. Beautifully fresh bread, some brown, some white. 2 small scones with jam and cream. A mountain of cakes, [lemon drizzle, carrot, sponge, lemon tart, several macaroons and lots of strawberries and rasberries to decorate the plate.] Everything looked well presented, portions were good, very tasty. Service was slow initially, but then perked up! Offered lots of free top-ups for tea, [could even swap types of tea.] Need to pre-book, but the price is fair, for what you get. Enjoyed and recommend.
