Holiday Inn Birmingham - Bromsgrove

Stayed for 2 days during the heatwave. Had a room on the first floor. Air conditioning was not functioning. The heat was unbearable. We requested another room and as given one in the basement. Seems like just the basement rooms have air conditioning that is working. So if you book and it's hot this is what you need. Our replacement room was tiny but such a relief that it was cool. However the shower had a curtain that had been made out of two bits of fabric and did not reach the floor. Very weird Also temperature control in the shower was broken and only came out very hot.Come on IHG you can do so much better.

Recently stayed with my mother in law. We both enjoyed our stay. Lovely staff, great room & the breakfast was perfect. Also we loved the surrounding, spent evenings searching for Swifts, Swallow & Sparrows. Wonderful to see the Biodiversity around such a busy spot. Didn't pay much attention to the car park, but the planting around this hotel is great for local wildlife.

June found me in the UK for a wedding and the closest hotel recommended for wedding guests was the Bromsgrove Holiday Inn. This is spot on - charming, excellent service, clean and homey. Breakfast has elements of a traditional English meal (blood sausage, beans on toast etc). And additional meals are available at the bar-restaurant (the portions are generous - and ingredients are super fresh). The Caesar salad and Avocado Toast were on point. My room was small and comfortable: there is no elevator / lift that I saw - so one has to travel fairly light; and because the hotel layout is built on an older model, there are some winding corridors before on reaches various spots. There is a gym and pool; the spa is for body treatments (rather than hair & makeup). Transport - they have a good cab service that can be auto-dialed from the hotel lobby phone. I would stay there again! The hotel needs updating - but you can make it work for a trip! Four stars for service.
