HOLIDAY INN BIRMINGHAM M6, JCT

I stayed at the Holiday Inn M6 J7 on 10th and 11th July. Upon returning home I realised that I had probably left some clothing in the room. I rang the hotel several times to check. The first time I was told someone would ring back – no one did. The second time I couldn't get through – no one answered the phone. So I emailed ihgservice@ihg.com on 13th July. I received a reply on 19th July telling me that the Holiday Inn would be in touch within two days – they weren’t. I emailed again on 23rd July. They responded and ask me to e-mail direct to the Holiday Inn. I did so on 23rd July. I have heard nothing since.

The entire family and friends used this hotel for my neice's wedding on 18th July. What an exceptionally accommodating team. We were allowed access to the hall to pre- decorate and 'dress down' after the wedding. We were supported in every aspect of our stay. All staff were kind and pleasant. Nothing was too much. Bianca, was excellent, went above and beyond to help create the perfect wedding reception. It was a pity we were not staying longer to enjoy the gym and swim facilities. But I would definitely recommend a stay here. The location was great for the quick jump onto the motorway when heading back home and looked scenic. The food was exquisite. An overall A class visit. Only thing missing is an elevator or 2 for those of us with mobility issues.

Arrival was very unpleasant due multiple complaints happening which meant my check in was loud and I wasn’t able to properly hear anything or ask questions. The room was ok, bed uncomfortable and the air con did not work. There was no shower gel in the shower as it had not been restocked. I ordered room service which was ok but did not have several items I requested and there was some confusion when I asked for my receipt the next morning, the receptionist gave me someone else’s bill and didn’t seem to understand what I was asking for. It was very loud, very busy and over all not somewhere I would like to return to.
