Holiday Inn Express Star City

I’ve stayed here a couple of times over the last few years for work, and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is looking very tired and is in serious need of some TLC. My room was okay overall, but there was a dried bloodstain on the carpet and the whole place could really do with some attention. Breakfast was fine, but I noticed a significant build-up of dust and cobwebs on the signs hanging directly above the food, which raised some concerns about hygiene. The meeting room we hired was also in poor condition, with parts of the ceiling hanging down, marks and scrapes on the walls, and tired-looking tables. It’s disappointing to see a hotel in such a great location allowed to go downhill. The staff do their best, but the building desperately needs investment. Unfortunately, I doubt we’ll stay again unless some much-needed TLC is carried out.

I was surprised by how good this hotel is. I hadnt stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before but this one was just excellent. The rooms were huge, had everything you could ask for and the breakfast in the morning (which is part of the nightly fee) was really good. The bar had a good range of drinks, which were a little pricey but acceptable given the location.

Not up to standard smelly tired room bed making noise when moving we left after first night booked elsewhere. Breakfast well if you like fed up staff, tables your plates stick too (took video of trying to move plates) limited pastries actually 1 hour before breakfast ended there were just 2 pastries left. Supposed to be under IHG standards IT ISN'T. Says free breakfast but you pay for it in the room price,I used my ihg reward points can't get any back but if I had paid has I'd be demanding money back.
