It's a bed, toilet, sink and shower in a small room. The bed really needs more than one flat pillow each. There's a tea and coffee room on one of the lower floors. Best reason for staying here is the quick access to the airport for an early flight. It's cheap, but only about the same as I paid for a better room (bigger and with a coffee pod machine) at a Heathrow Premier Inn in April.

This is the most basic of ACCOR hotels at Birmingham airport. It is within the same building as the standard Ibis. Rooms are small and the the shower is particularly small. If you just need a bed and wash facilities, this is the place to go. Booking well in advance gets excellent prices (upto 50% cheaper). There was coffee and tea available on the first floor (not in room) and this had very limited options. The bed was passable but not overly comfortable. Would recommend to those on a limited budget who don’t mind a very small living/ washing space.

I stayed at the ibis Birmingham Airport hotel, prior to travelling around the Canary Islands, and, unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. As a travel creator, I stay in hotels across the UK throughout the year, so I appreciate that budget hotels won’t offer luxury. However, I do expect a clean, comfortable and practical room, and this hotel failed to meet even those basic expectations. The bedroom design was particularly poor. The sink being attached to the headboard of the bed rather than being located in the bathroom felt incredibly impractical and unhygienic. It’s a layout I’ve never encountered before, and it made the room feel more like a student pod than a hotel bedroom. The bathroom itself felt cramped, and the overall design prioritised squeezing everything into the smallest possible space over guest comfort. Another major disappointment was the lack of any tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. Instead, guests are directed to a communal hot drinks station on the fifth floor. Having to leave your room for a simple cup of tea or coffee, particularly first thing in the morning or late at night, is inconvenient and not what I would expect from any hotel, regardless of price. Housekeeping also left much to be desired. The room didn’t give the impression that it had been prepared with much care or attention to detail, which immediately affected my first impression of the hotel. The staff were equally disappointing. Interactions felt impersonal and unwelcoming, and there was very little effort made to provide a positive guest experience. Good customer service can often make up for shortcomings in a hotel, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. The location next to Birmingham Airport is undoubtedly convenient, but convenience alone isn’t enough. There are far better options nearby that provide a much more comfortable stay. Sadly, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again or recommend it to other travellers.
