Gainsborough Hotel

Was expecting a lot more basic for the price so was very happy with this find on secret escapes. Good value for money. Only stayed 1 night as it was just somewhere to sleep whilst we visited the Theatre but would have been happy to stay longer. Budget room had a decent sized bed and the room was a very good size. Facilities were a good standard - could tell it had just been refurbished. Located on the basement level but that didn't bother us (room perfectly nice) Air con was excellent and needed in the heatwave. Tube station was 3 min walk and very convenient to get around. Lots of restaurants/eateries in the area too. Hotel on a lovely street. Would definitely stay again next time we visit.

I have stayed at the Gainsborough Hotel many times while travelling to London for medical treatments at the hospital, and it has become my go-to hotel whenever I need to be in the area. The staff are excellent — always incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable, and the hotel offers excellent value for money, especially considering its central London location. It is also very conveniently situated near South Kensington Tube station, making it easy to get around. After many stays, I genuinely don’t have anything negative to say. Every experience I have had at the Gainsborough has been positive, and knowing I have somewhere comfortable and welcoming to stay makes my trips to London for hospital treatment that little bit easier. Thank you very much to everyone at the Gainsborough for everything you do and for always making me feel so welcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I will certainly continue to stay here whenever I am in London.

Great value hotel booked via Secret Escapes, we had a standard double room and a single. Both rooms were very clean and well equipped with good air conditioning. Much better than expected, quiet area and friendly staff. Bathroom was small but had a great shower and luxury toiletries including body lotion :) fluffy white towels and quality bed linen. Would recommend and hope to stay again.
