Hilton Gatwick Airport (I)

Convenient and well maintained hotel. Staff was lovely, special thanks to Vithursan for his excellent service at the Garden restaurant.

Once again an excellent experience in the executive lounge. Although I pop in various times of the day (always hit drinks and soft drinks, along with nibbles), between 18:00 & 20:00 they serve canapés and complementary drinks. An excellent selection of spirits, whiskey, Jack Daniel’s, vodka, gin to name a few, red and white wine, soft drinks and Coors light and corona, that should be enough to keep you going. Lovely host Gaaya is on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly, always welcomed with a smile which is always nice after a long day. Around 40 seats, seating with tables in 2’s or 4’s, large TV showing mainly the news and a pc if you need one. Definitely worth the up grade if you need to be in the hotel for a meeting, kill 2 birds with 1 stone in the executive lounge (as long as you’re not discussing national security). I’m no Judith Chalmers, but I’ll give it a go, enjoy.

This hotel is conveniently located at the south terminal of Gatwick airport. As a Diamond member, I received an upgrade to an Executive room which was welcomed. The room was on 4th floor and was immaculate. The Executive Lounge is a nice space to spend some time in the evening. Staff are very friendly and offer hot snacks as well as the cold food. The drinks selection is good. Breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor was of excellent quality with an expansive buffet. I had dinner in Amy’s bar which was also good, although the service was a bit slow. The other down side was that on the day of check out, one of the Sixt employees (black man with Rastafarian looking hair) who has an office within the hotel decided that it was appropriate for him to sit in Amy’s bar taking work related calls on speakerphone. This reflects badly on the hotel as their office in within the hotel building.
