We had a great time, it is a British-style hotel just as I like, an extraordinary room, an old-fashioned bathroom right in the heart of the city center, I highly recommend this establishment and the very welcoming and warm staff

I was there for a weekend; I remember it from when I was a boy when it had just opened, but I had never stayed there. An old building, a cluster of buildings to tell the truth, leaning one against the other to hold each other up and trying to fit together. The entrance is on a small alley, almost hidden, and then when you are inside you are surrounded by a profusion of dark wood, dated furniture, worn-out armchairs but for this very reason fascinating, and creaky stairs. Everything is very old style, wainscoting covering almost everything, several small rooms on the ground floor, and a very lovely little garden where you can have a drink. The room follows the style, ours was all in shades of dark green, a comfortable heavy wooden bed, a fireplace, plenty of closets, a small table full of trinkets, not a flat surface (let's say the English don't know what a carpenter's level is!). Bathroom with separate faucets for hot and cold water, a classic for them but a torture for us, but this too is part of the charm of the place. Breakfast is served only in the room; there isn't a great choice, but it's enough for us. The area is quiet and Farringdon station is literally a stone's throw away!

This was my 3rd stay at this lovely hotel and every time has been wonderful! I have been twice with my partner and once on my own whilst in London. The location, atmosphere and attention to detail is brilliant. Every room we have stayed in has been beautiful and very clean. The staff are very helpful, professional and friendly and we look forward to coming back again soon. Thankyou to the whole team for making this lovely hotel so special and memorable 😄
