I was put in room 212 and the room seemed ok but I opened the wardrobe to find no back on it with a huge hole in the bare wall seeing filthy pipes and a huge drop where anyone could have climbed up it into my room. I’m a single solo traveller and after all the trouble Travelodge has had with security, they put my safety at risk. I went down to speak to them and the rudest member of staff called Karen spoke to me in such a humiliating way, condescending way in front of other staff and guests. Never looked at me and almost laughed at me when I told her I was worried about my safety! Asked for a refund so I could stay somewhere else and she refused but in the most terrible way Being in customer services myself and a trainer .. she totally handled my complaint in the most disgusting way Why they keep such rude staff on or badly train them All the other staff were lovely to me I will be taking my complaint further and taking this to the top. No women or man should feel they are worried about there safety and spoke to in a terrible way I will never stay at the Cairn again and I hope management see this review

Spent a couple of nights here and for what we paid(around £142) for bed and breakfast for 2 of us thought it was good value. Yes the hotel is dated but it is also clean and functional. Beds are comfortable and the breakfasts were good with a plentiful choice. It is also close to the town centre where there are many restaurants and cafes open. Betty's was only open for shop sales though. Good value for money
