Excellent location. Staff professional with nothing to much trouble. Rooms clean. bathrooms recently modernised. With the breakfast included in the price, it’s excellent value for money .Limited parking at the hotel which is charged at £8 .00 for 24 hours,parking in the adjacent street free after6pm till 8am,so not a problem, we have stopped there many times and the standards have remained constant. Wakefield town is so improved from a few years ago, with the terrific cathedral and vibrant shops it’s well worth a visit.

The highlight of my stay was the croissant at breakfast. Honestly. The bed was soft and soggy, the bathroom tired, the soundproofing non existent. There is a notice offering earplugs- take them. Conversation, snoring, urinating, all clearly heard all night. I think I’d have got a better night sleep in my car. I was exhausted the next morning. The breakfast area is tiny and cramped and very quickly overrun making it incredibly frustrating to get to any of the offerings. And the constant queue for the single coffee machine! The hotel has a tiny car park costing £8 for 24hrs and the on street parking is limited to 1hr only. There was no guidance on where to leave the car from the staff so, if you must stay here, do your research first! The staff need some training in customer service, I found them almost rude. To be fair, they are likely over worked and massively underpaid so have no time for pleasantries. I know this is a budget hotel chain but there has to be a minimum standard.

We had 5 rooms, the manager Helga and the staff especially Josh were very helpful, flexible and made us feel welcome The rooms had a sofa bed as well as desk and chair and felt roomy
