Premier Inn Wakefield South (M1, Jct39)

Was in room 328 - very comfortable but the room stank of smoke when I arrived. The receptionist tried to sort me out with an air purifier, but the only one available was making some dodgy clicking noises so we settled for strong air freshener. She mentioned it might be a vent that was causing the problem, but I think the previous people in there had been smoking. Thank-you for trying to help - otherwise a great stay.

It’s probably my tenth one night stay here over the years. The location is great, straight off the motorway but not bothered by road noise in bedroom. Had a Premier Plus room. Extremely comfortable , welcome air con on a hot day. Well laid out. Nice chairs too. Decent WiFi. Bed was fantastic. Safe and visible car park. Friendly staff. Absolute bargain price wise.

Check in to pre-arranged booking was laborious, and quite honestly painful. The room was booked by my employed and the reception was insistant that the business send an email at 8.30pm confirming all details of the booking, payment details etc! in the end and for ease, the room was cancelled and then rebooked on line, allowing for direct payment to be made, in doing this, they have now changed the business twice, payment for the new booking and again for the cancelled booked as this was after 1.00pm, even though they still put me in the same room!! Painful experienced when the booking was made against an account, with all payment details stores!! Shall not be too eager to repeat the experience, we travel extensively, using most hotel chains and this has by far been the worst experience!
