Travelodge Leeds Central

No aircon on one of the hottest nights, so the room was stifling. Only 30 minutes free Wi-Fi, then there’s a charge, this is totally unacceptable today. No phone in the room. Mugs would not fit the coffee machine so making a coffee was messy, only half a cup at a time. The shower pressure was very low, a shower took ages. Loud music until 2.00 a.m. from the nightclub opposite. Only good points: the staff and the location.

Excellent location. Overall staff were excellent , however let down by a couple of things. We watched the football in the hotel/bar restaurant on Saturday night there were five people waiting to be served and no one in sight! Eventually found someone to ask for service was met with rolling of eyes and a manner of too much trouble…..surely they must have been aware that they were likely to have a few people in? Seemed short staffed which may have been the reason? Breakfast on second morning was poor… pastries and croissants were not replenished even after asking. Room was clean and items replenished daily. Strong smell of weed in room corridor which was reported to reception, the hotel appears to be used for emergency accommodation but don’t let this put you off as their were no issues at all ( I was only aware as heard the check ins) I would come back as really friendly, cheerful and helpful staff and I think the issues mentioned were down to staffing levels which is not their fault.

Hotel was very clean and room well maintained. Expected a lot of noise but was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. Considering the price charged it was a needs must booking and wouldn’t normally even consider staying in the centre of Leeds on a Saturday night. Very poor value for money. We shared the lift with a homeless man who got out on the first floor with his extra coffee and milk from reception. I suppose it could have been a charity paying his bill but it did leave us a little unsettled as to what to expect but it was relatively quiet overnight. I’d gladly return to this hotel but would want to pay less than the £176 a night we were charged
