Waterton Park Hotel

We come for the twilight spa evening and what fantastic value for money! Lovely staff, great facilities and I loved the fact you got the outside hot tub to yourself! Mo is great asset to the team, super friendly and charismatic and was very helpful. The grounds are stunning and you could dedicate a trip just to the beautiful scenery this hotel has to offer. Will definitely be coming again.

This place is absolutely dreadful. The building and grounds are stunning however this is where it ends. We had booked a 'luxury' spa afternoon, which on paper looked really good. But be warned it isn't. The spa facilities basically contains a swimming pool, a sauna which fits about 3 people , and a steam room which again fits the same. On the day the pool area was crowded, approximately 20 people in, however there were only 12 seats. Do the mathematics and you will see my issue. I raised this with a member of staff who told me to roll my towel up and sit on that. I was unsure if they were joking or not. They then told me there was seating outside, however we had to walk through the bar and restaurant, in wet swim shorts. Apparently this was normal ? This was far from normal. Also what they don't tell you is the hot tubs are allocated on a time slot, where you are given a time and can only use these for 30 mins. This was utter ludicrous. So we paid for the use of the facilities which include the hot tub but you are limited to one 30 mins slot. While in the hot tub we also became part of a wedding party. I don't know who was more embarrassed the poor wedding party or us. We were dressed in swim shorts and they were all dressed in their best clothes, and we were featured on several official wedding photos. Surely common sense should have prevailed to keep the two separate, or was the hotel that greedy they squeezed as many people in as possible and hoped for the best. The staff in the bar area were seen visibly arguing with each other. My partner asked for a drinks order, the lady stormed off in a huff and he had to reorder the drinks. We also had afternoon tea. We had to get up and ask for the tea which accompanies the afternoon tea. Not the best service in the world. In a nutshell, if you want a 'luxury' spa day where you have to sit on the floor, have very limited facilities, walk through a bar and a restaurant in wet shorts to sit outside and freeze as there is no seats inside, be shouted at by staff and basically serve yourself for afternoon tea, and also become a surprise guest at a wedding, then this is the place for you. If not..... DO NO BOOK !!!!! We have an over night stay here on the 3rd October which has cost £200 and we can't cancel. That was a very expensive mistake to make.

I have just done the Twilight spa this evening with my hubby. It was one of his presents for his 50th. What a absolutely lovely evening it really has been. Staff were so lovely especially Eva on the leisure side. She was amazing. Very polite and friendly. She is a credit to your team. I will definetly be back and would highly recommend to anyone. Wr had food and that was also lovely🙂🙂
