Looks good in photos, but is a ropey dive. We had a family room costing over £300 a night. Parked at rear, arrived to broken rubble and weeds. External areas were not maintained at all and in poor condition, with breeze blocks and dead broken ponds, dead plants and weeds everywhere. Paved pathways were dangerously uneven. Our room had bedside lamps with bare bulbs so bright they could be seen from Mars. Only one of the two main lights actually worked, the other flickered like we were in a horror movie. The toilet seat was so loose it was a mission not to fall off. The ceiling extractor fan was broken with exposed wires. Cracked window sills and plasterwork everywhere. Ropey sculptures dotted around were pretty ugly and whomever styled the place has no real taste, way too much cheap shabby chic. For over £300 a night it was pretty shameful really. The management needs to walk around the property daily and make sure it’s maintained properly, but looking at the other negative reviews people have clearly pointed these things out before and yet nothing has been done. WE WILL NEVER RETURN.

Poorly kept hotel. Carpet and restaurant chairs stained, and what can one say about the filthy state of the door leading to the kitchens: a horror! The hotel grounds are sorely lacking maintenance. In our room, stains on the door, walls, carpet, dust and spider webs on the ceiling. The bathroom smelled of urine. Sloppy housekeeping. We left a day early and did not expect a refund. It is a shame because the site has potential, but one still has to want to exploit it. Dinner at the restaurant was decent but expensive, like in quite a few restaurants in the region. It is clearly a lack of respect for the clientele given the prices charged! Move along, there is much better in terms of value for money.

We went for a special family roast dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was incredible. The whole setting is so picturesque. The grounds of the hotel and even the finer details of the placemats and the table being set for our arrival. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. It was all so special. The presentation of the food was to a very high standard. It was of course also delicious with a great choice of roast meats, which I haven’t really come across before. But it’s such a brilliant idea. There was plenty of everything and we all left stuffed with food left over. Dog friendly which meant we didn’t have to worry about getting back to the dogs. And to top it all they had a gin bar with an incredible selection of gins to try. I highly recommend and will be back for sure! The whole experience was faultless and just wonderful. Thank you to your team for getting it spot on!
