A very dog friendly hotel, we were meeting family there and they have a dog. We had a ground floor apartment and it was a scorching hot weekend so the air conditioning was wonderful - and it was on when we arrived so that the room was really cool. We didn't really use the facilities in the apartment as we got it to avoid stairs (there is no lift) but it would be easy to self cater from one of these. Our family members had an upstairs room and there were no complaints there either. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and a particular shout out to the young man who was on reception on Friday afternoon and helpfully took photos for up on Saturday evening - nothing was too much trouble for him. We ate in the bar area 2 evenings (because of the dog) and the food was good - better than 'pub grub'. Breakfast was better than average hotel fare, choice of breads too. No natural yoghurt on Sunday but it was very busy and it's a very minor niggle. We would go back.

Stayed for one night with a family meal in a private dining room. The accommodation was lovely, clean and comfortable. Yes the main road is busy but you can keep the windows shut and use the aircon if you need quiet. Food was brilliant. There were quite a few vegans and vegetarians in the party and the chef put together a delicious and interesting meal. The staff were attentive with a special shout out to Jack and Jason for their above and beyond customer service. Small carpark so be warned. Would definitely recommend.

When we first arrived and went to the room, I noticed dirty marks on the pillowcase. I went to reception and informed them, they send someone with a clean pillowcase but no offer to change it for us - it was just handed to me to change myself. The toilet was very slow draining and filled up very high even to the point I was worried it was going to overflow - there was only a small amount of toilet paper used and no solid matter! The door frame leading into the toilet was absolutely filthy - it certainly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The footstool had stains on it too. The main light in the room had been changed (not very recently judging by the amount of dust on the fitting) and there was the old paint / drill holes from where the previous fitting had been. The room itself was very tired and dated looking and not to a standard I would expect for the price paid.
