Jurys Inn Swindon (I)

Although the overall stay was good, the post-stay customer service was extremely disappointing. My mother accidentally left her glasses in the room after we checked out. I emailed the hotel several times and received no reply. I then called the hotel, where they confirmed they had read my emails (despite never responding to them) and promised to check with housekeeping and get back to me by the end of the day. They never did. I sent another follow-up email and, once again, received no response. Losing a personal item can happen, but completely ignoring a guest after acknowledging the request is unacceptable. A simple update—even if the glasses had not been found—would have shown basic courtesy and professionalism. It's unfortunate because the stay itself was pleasant, but the lack of communication after check-out left a very negative final impression.

The location was convenient to train and bus. It was also only a short walk to some nice restaurants and a lovely park. The room was spacious and comfortable. Although i was given a room right across from the elevator, it was thankfully not very busy, so the noise was not an issue. Staff was mildly helpful but not particularly accommodating. Seemed they just wanted to get me to spend more money - no REALLY, i don't want breakfast! If you are looking for special treatment, look elsewhere.

Very helpful and very kind staff, thank you so much to Stephen and Brad from the bar, and Aimee from the reception. They were very understanding that my aunt had mobility issues due to her recent back surgery. Stephen went above and beyond our expectations as he kindly helped my aunt and my 12-year old daughter with their luggages whilst I parked the car across the road. Brad very kindly accommodated our request to order food even if they were about to close already so we could celebrate my daughter’s 12th birthday there after a 4-hour drive from Lake District. Aimee has reserved a disability room for my aunt and went out of her way to make sure there was a fridge for my aunt’s insulin injections. She also made sure that our room was just next to my aunt’s. The breakfast was excellent too, very tasty. Overall it was a very nice stay and would definitely book this hotel again in the future. Well done Stephen, Brad and Aimee, you are the reasons why we are coming back to this hotel.
