Love the room lay-out with the desk & wardrobe in a nook away from the bed. Good location near town, very good breakfast (excellent croissants... not the usual basic packaged ones). Reception staff were friendly & helpful.

Having read the previous review about the quality of food for coach party guests I have to agree. We were given 3 choices for our main course accompanied by chips and mixed vegetables for 3 nights out of the four! Options included gammon one night Cumberland sausage another. Both had been sat under hot lights for a long time and were very dry and tough. Two out of three choices were pasta on one evening. Not very nice either 😟. I am sure they got to hear of our collective complaints as they offered us a very nice roast dinner on the last night. We were very happy with our room, and the hotel itself and it was well placed for all our tours.

We are staying here with a coach company, here's what I think so far. It's a lovely hotel in a not so great area, our room is brilliant, spacious and comfortable. We have been on many coach trips and appreciate that costs are kept low and that must be a challenge for any chef. But have to say with that in mind the main courses have been horrible and sometimes inedible. Breakfast time that has been mentioned before is chaotic, we are not segregated from the proper clientele so have to join in the scrum. The whole area needs sorted. I am sure if you are not on a coach trip the food will be of a higher standard in the restaurant ?
