COMFORT SUITES FOLEY

Our travel was delayed due to a vehicle problem. Our vehicle was being serviced nearby and we were told it would be best to stay overnight nearby. We had walked to the hotel to get a room and were exhausted from no rest and trying to get repairs done. We inquired about early check in. The morning staff person, I was told later that her name was Jackie, but she did not have on a name badge, told us that check in was at 3pm. We walked through the area trying to pass time and decided to return around 2pm to see if our room was available. Jackie said, "I told you that check in is at 3pm". She did not offer to check to see if our room was available, she just quickly quipped her statement. We are Platinum Members and have stayed at multiple Choice Hotels and have been offered the opportunity to check in early, if needed. This time, we needed this service. It seems that Jackie should be retrained and sent to Charm School to learn how to talk to people. Otherwise, the evening staff and our room was great.

I checked in briefly, left the property for a few hours, and returned to find the sheets soiled with hair, trash on the floor from a previous guest, and a strong musty odor. The room had clearly never been cleaned or inspected. I never unpacked or spent a single night there. The front desk associate acknowledged the issue and assured me a refund would be processed. The next day, the manager denied it — dismissing her own staff member's assurance as "her word against hers." I called corporate and spoke with more than ten representatives. Every one confirmed the refund had to be issued at the hotel level — sending me right back to the manager who had already refused. I was charged $288.59 for a room I never used, given an assurance that was later contradicted by management, and have been passed in circles with no resolution. I had to book another hotel at my own expense. I would strongly caution anyone considering this property...it was filthy!

Stayed here 3 nights because it was close to a local events came for. After an 8 hour drive, the room they gave us smelled like a locker room. Ugh. Back down to the desk to ask for a different room. They put us in the one right next door. It smelled also. Not nearly as badly though. Everything in the bathroom was acceptable. Freezer compartment in fridge did NOT keep anything frozen. Was graciously allowed to keep my freezer pack in the employee fridge by the breakfast room. Sleeping was difficult. The bed smelled like a sweaty person had just been in it. All three nights it smelled like that. I used my lavender spray on the sheets, but still woke often smelling that sweat. Glad it’s unlikely we’ll be back to this area.
