HAMPTON INN JACKSONVILLE-ANNIS

Dogs barking in the room next to us, dogs barking in the hallway, dogs barking in the lobby and in the dining area. That's right, in the dining area while people are eating. The people are ignorant. When you bring it to the staff they just shrug their shoulders. A health department violation I'm sure. Dogs in hotels are a problem and this one is no exception.

When my daughter and I walked into our room, we immediately had to turn around and walk out because of the strong odor of weed. It was so bad that we could not stay in that room. I had to request to be moved to another room. I was going to wash my face with the bar soap they provide, but when I took it out of the box, it was already soapy and wet, so obviously, they put a used bar of soap back in the box. The fire alarm went off several times late that night. I tried to call the front office to see if we needed to evacuate, but the phone didn't work; it actually had a hole where it was supposed to be plugged into the wall. Then, around midnight, the power went out. The next morning, we needed ice. The ice machines on the 3rd and 2nd floors were out of order. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this hotel.

Convenient location and about the only option in town. Didnt have hot water. They kept saying they were having hot water heater and pressure issues. Couldnt seem to fix the problem for our stay. Moved us to a different room, but it didnt have hot water either. House keeping needed to be more attentive. Stains on carpets. Towels put away damp. When moved to second room, could smell food from previous guests. Needed to spray Lysol to clean air. Phone charger on table hadnt been cleaned. It was sticky and dirty from a drink spilled on it. Has potential but our stay wasnt good. Needs some competition to help them step up their game.
