The unique experience of staying at a 150+ year old historic home was wonderful. The courtyard and its lush plantings was a nightly resting place. The staff was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Its placement in the historic Mobile downtown was ideal for our needs. We enjoyed the small park, Spanish Plaza, just across the street.

We are an older couple who have loved staying in older, historic locations, but this is the first time in our life that we have left a booking because it was bad. The room set up wasn't comfortable - the bed had no headboard and slanted down so your head was lower than your feet. There was only one chair in the room, so someone always had to sit on the bed which wasn't comfortable. The area rug slid when you stepped on it which is alarming for anyone but especially so for older folks. The bathroom tile was about an inch and a half taller than the floor of the bedroom, which is totally unsafe when you go to the bathroom anytime but especially so in the middle of the night! We were scared it would cause us to trip! But the worse part of the room was the smell. Something was being pumped into the room to make it smell better but it was really overpowering and not pleasant. Based on these things, we bit the bullet and left after one night forfeiting our stay there but we couldn't stand staying there another night. It is a historic location and we can appreciate that, but it was a very disappointing choice and we have no regrets for leaving early.

My wife and I visited Mobile en route to Fort Benning. I found the Malaga Inn and loved the charm! Sure, it’s an 1800’s building but the upgrades are more than satisfactory while keeping the charm of an older establishment. Sitting on the balcony that surrounds the courtyard was a great way to spend an evening. Close to so much of what Mobile has to offer. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
