La Quinta Montgomery Eastern Bypass

I had been driving 12 hours and needed a few hours of sleep. I found a special for 29$. I got a non smoking queen from 9:30 AM-12PM. As soon as I walked in the room smelled like stale cigarettes. I went to lock the door and the tip lock was broken. It did hold the door closed, but it would open 2 or 3 inches. The towels looked dirty so we didn't use them. There was no soap, shampoo, etc. They did have an ice cube tray and the fridge was on and microwave was clean. The front desk associate was very nice and quick with check in. When all was said and done--I couldn't sleep because of the lock and that's why I stopped there. Im a single Mom. So thats important to me. Feeling safe to close my eyes. I rested for 2 hours and continued our trip. If they had cleaned the room before hand I'd add another star. It would have been nice to get cleaned up before another day in the car, but it just looked dirty along with towels that had black marks-not stained-actual marks-like it was dirty.

To start, the front desk gave us the key to not only one occupied room, but two. One of the tenants became irate with US for opening the door to what we were told was our room. She and a couple of other men that were apparently living in other rooms began to physically threaten us and follow us to the office threatening us calling us "perverts" for opening the door (with the keycard!!!) to what we thought was our room. A maintenance guy had to block them off from attacking us. Once in the office, no apologies were made or reassurances and the people threatening us followed us to our vehicle (and saw what we were driving). Then the key to the second room given to us was ALSO occupied. After finally getting a room that wasn't occupied, we walked in to find cigarette butts and other trash around the final room, we half thought it was occupied too but the beds were made. We had to contact our booking agency to be transferred to another hotel entirely. The entire area is sketchy and the staff clearly do not know what they're doing!!! Worst hotels I've EVER been.

Stayed here at this motel for a week while staying one night random knock at the door opened it to see a handgun held at my face asking if someone not staying in my room if they was there very dangerous area stay here only as a last resort
