Ramada Anchorage Downtown

We saw the name, we thought quality, all we got was cheap. We're staying here in a very shoddy version of Ramada by Wyndham, I'm not impressed with the quality of the room furnishings, and I'm even less impressed with the quality of the staff over the last days, 1. No maid service except when we ask, which should come automatically, 2. We have had to have our room key re-energized twice because they failed to put in the correct date upon our entry. When I told them We were leaving on such-and-such a day, they had to ask me how many days is that so I counted it off for them on fingers. 3. Staff was inattentive not caring for customers first. When my room key readjustment was in the middle of being done. That process was interrupted by somebody from the back, discussing an IT problem with a reservation that was no longer applicable. So my needs came after the IT issue. 4. Breakfast was poor. The free breakfast was hardly adequate. And we had a choice of one and a 1/2 juices, I say 1 and a 1/2 juices, because while 1 of them worked, the other 1 was either low or simply putting out too much water for it to be palatable. The other two dispensers in the same machine were not working for 2 days. 5. Sanitary conditions? The seats in the Breakfast room were filthy. Stained as if they were never cleaned. They ran out of plastic knifes and started using metal ones which when used, were supposed to be left by the clean ones! 6. Parking hazards. There were small shards of metal in the parking lot. 7. Bring your own detergent. Also, at the washer dryer section , while it was adequate, it was lacking a detergent dispenser for people to use. 8. Exteriors noise> If you go here be prepared for the train horns at the yard nearby, and aircraft landing at all hours at the nearby airport.

It started with the van that was used for pick up. It wasn’t in good condition and the side door didn’t open very well. No shocks. There was no conversation from the driver. The hotel had some new fixtures, but the underlying structures were not repaired. The bed was comfortable, but really squeaky even when rolling over. They give you Internet, but it’s limited, and the password constantly needs to be re-entered. It doesn’t work the morning you leave. The breakfast is continental with waffle makers. The coffee was ice cold. A second one was brought out and it was cold. You can only get milk if you get it from the cereal area which is limited because the breakfast time is short. They have washer/dryers.. The man at the front desk was very nice.

The room was roomy and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was clean and comfortable as well. The room was dated and needs some TLC. The curtains are blackout but have seen better days and have holes. And the airco looked dirty and the exhaust was not plugged in properly so we had to do that ourselves. The big orange chair in the room had crumps on the cushion and the fridge was missing the door for the freezer part, so the freezer was all ice. The sheets were clean but has some stains. The breakfast was more elaborate then expected but the room needed a sweep and the tables needed a wipe… okay stay for a night but again, it needs some TLC. The workers were kind and helpful.
