WESTMARK

The hotel was closed without notice. The booking was confirmed and the money was taken. I arrived on the day of check-in only to discover boarded up doors and active renovations. Fortunately, I booked with AMEX Travel, so we rebooked with a nearby hotel, and refunded the money for the original booking. I and AMEX have been unable to contact the hotel.

I booked this hotel in October through Travelocity and prepaid. After hours of flying I got to the hotel and it was boarded up. I had to stay at a more expensive hotel. I was told by someone at the other hotel that Westmark had been closed over a year while I prepaid 6 months earlier. Still trying to get my money back.

Closed for renovations . We had made a booking 9 months ahead for May 23. It just so happened that we stopped in Anchorage as part of a organised land tour by Princess Cruises on route to Fairbanks. We noticed the hotel closed up and construction crews working on it. Just as well we saw this on the way through, because we had no notification from Booking.com or the hotel that it was closed. So we would have arrived at 8 pm on May 23 with no where to stay at that time of evening.
