Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn

Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff at check in was dismissive when questions asked. Bath/shower has been converted to only a shower stall- but the curved shower curtain bar is still being used which means the water goes all over the floor. Not worth the price.

Really wanted to love this hotel as the location is fantastic. Our room was comfortable and clean although the air conditioner was quite noisy. Staff are friendly but somethings require improvement. We had pre paid for breakfast and it was ok and came with table service to start then it was the normal buffet. The pub food was ok but pricey. The restaurant is a major let down. You see the nice bar area and think you are going to eat really well. But the seating area in the restaurant is like a food hall. My lasagna could have been out of the freezer it was so generic. And as for the cost this was a real disappointment to us both. But if you want to be close to the South Rim then yes this hotel allows you to be there in a couple of minutes…

If it's The Squire, poor experience. I think my review is on their website. The young woman at check in asked me for a $40 early check in fee even after telling me that the room was ready (the fee applied to any check in before 4pm and I arrived 1.30pm). That was after I had prepaid $1400 for two nights (mine was a very late booking, so I guess the price was hiked). I went off hiking instead of paying the extra fee, came back very thirsty, checked in and went to the mini bar for some water: nothing in the mini bar. I went and bought water and a 6 pack of beer. I was unlucky as I had a noisy ice machine dispensing all the time across the corridor. A smoke alarm went off whilst I was in the shower. Maybe I'm that hot. I jumped out smartish, made myself decent and the staff member outside told me that occasionally the showers did make the smoke alarm go off but he thought it was someone smoking in their room. Even if I was in another room, I would think that is a lot of money for what you get. It is a hotel without much personality. It's a bit bland, featureless, in need of an update and I felt the staff were a bit, well, disengaged.
