El Tovar - Grand Canyon

We chose this hotel because we had my parents who need a cane. They were so glad to see the spectacular scenery just a step from the hotel. They can’t go farther either ride on shuttle buses to explore the canyon. However, they enjoyed the view just sat on a chairs to watch a great view for long time. On the other hand, the hotel is 125 years old, so AC was noisy and hallways is squeezing when I walk through. Even though, I think worth to stay the hotel.

Best way to describe a stay at El Tovar is to call it an experience. You step back in time! The venue is quaint, warm, engaging, historic, almost magical. You step out of the Lodge to see some of the most majestic views of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim.

This was not a pleasant experience for me. I was truly disappointed in the whole experience.. For $700.00 a night I would expect a nice mattress!!!! You could feel the springs, not a good nights sleep. The bathroom had a large step up, if you had to get up in the middle of the night you needed to remember that you had to step up for the bathroom and step down when you exit!!! NOT SAFE!!!
