Grand Hotel

We stayed at Grand Canyon Plaza for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay! The pool was great and we had a room with a forest view. It is very conveniently located next to Grand canyon visitor center and IMAX cinema (which we enjoyed on one night), as well as a free shuttle bus stop. We did not have breakfast included with our stay but McDonald’s and Wendy’s and a local supermarket are just a few minutes walk. There is an ice machine and a water fountain in the first floor which was convenient. The gift shop is nice and we bought a couple of gifts there. The hotel has a fantastic jungle themed central lobby with multiple trees, fountains, a fish pond, etc but it seems that it has an unexploited potential and it is always empty. It had a bar area but it was constantly closed. I guess it would need a major replanning with tree cutting and hot tub area relocating (the smell would be really off putting if you decide to have a meal) to be used. A bit of a shame as it seems like a nice idea with a big potential. Overall, it was an nice stay and a great value for money! It is an excellent, budget-friendly base to explore Grand Canyon!

Stop just for lunch. Very bland, few choices for a buffet.

Great location just outside the park. There are lots of restaurants in the area. The price to stay at this location is so much lower than staying in the park. Unless you need to stay in a hotel on the rim, save your money and stay here. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable.
