Motel 6 Mesa South

We made our reservation with Motel 6 directly and it was quick and easy. They have a military discount, so that was great. Check in was fast, easy, and friendly. Desk clerk asked if a middle room was ok (that is surrounding a courtyard), but wish we would have gotten an outside room next to the parking lot. Courtyard was noisy and 'sketchy'. Got into our room....no microwave, fridge, coffee maker that have almost always been standard in motel rooms. It seemed pretty clean...the tub was not great looking, but I think that was cracks from age. The floor was tile....I spilled water on the floor and when I cleaned it up with a washcloth (white), it was black...gross! I usually go barefoot by habit, so l looked at the bottom of my feet; yep, black as well. Housekeeping was very noisy in the morning...I know the carts can't help but be noisy, but they were talking very loudly, ran the cart into walls a few times. This was before 8, good thing we aren't late sleepers!

I have to say, the property was well kept, everything in the room was in great condition, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in giving directions and suggestions. Check in and out was quick and cheerful. As this Motel is a block off the main street, might consider better street lighting, a bit spooky late at night and early in the morning. The roving security at night was very helpful, friendly, and very noticeable which was comforting. Housekeeping was very friendly and worked around my comings and going! Great 5 nights, comfortable and reasonably priced.

This location swept a Domestic Violence/Child Endangerment situation under the rug. Employees switching shifts were not informed, let alone aware, of the incident that occurred. OR that the man trying to fight 2 women could possibly be trying to come back that night. I felt very uneasy and unsafe here. They don't care about anything other than your money. Also, don't expect a microwave if you pay for it automatically. Apparently, only SOME rooms have microwaves, so you basically have a 50/50 chance to getting what you paid extra for.
