InnSuites Hotel Tempe/Phoenix Airport

Should have known better. I'm not fussy, but the stairwells were filthy. The room smelled odd. The ice machines weren't working. The "clientele" that hung around were obviously long term residents. Very creepy. The whole pool area was covered in a grimy film. No pool towels. When I found I had no hot water, I checked out. That was about an hour or two after check-in. Paid for the first night of my intended 3 night stay, and bolted. In my wildest dreams, I can not imagine calling this a 3 star property.

I arrived on a Friday evening, all that was available was on the second floor, I went down the next morning and asked if I could change to a first floor room because of health problems climbing the stairs, They immediately relocated me. The room is large w/ refrig/ microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Also available is a free comp breakfast. This hotel is centrally located with easy freeway access.

CONS: Room cleanliness and smell, property location, and uncomfortable customer experience. Visited room and cxled reservation. Puerto Rican employee that showed me the room was very inappropriate and made me completely uncomfortable. So much that instead of changing my reservations dates, I elected not to stay at the location by canceling the entire stay. From my understanding I was supposed to be reviewing a smoke-free room, while the room that they showed me smelled and looked like an ashtray. The online pictures make this place look like a 3-star. This property needs some work on the inside. I would not stay without first inspecting your quarters. The employees are not professional and unfortunately, the front desk rep was really nice.
