Super 8 Tempe/ASU/Airport

It’s filthy and staff is rude. I’ve stayed there half dozen times over past 2 months and have noticed it’s not as clean as it was. Last night my room was awful. There was loose change in the sheets, and a dirty sock made into the sheets as if the staff just made the bed and didn’t change the bed sheets, the bed stunk terribly and the previous guest gave themselves a haircut in the bathroom and the hair was left all over. Was absolutely disgusting. There was feces on the bathroom wall and the shower barely trickled water...took me nearly 45 min to shower. Then on top of all of that I had made arrangements at check in to checkout 1 hour late and was approved no problem by the night clerk, but at 11:15am the housekeeper started knocking every 5 minutes (while taking my incredibly frustrating shower) even after I informed her of the pre-made arrangements. At 11:30am “linda” at the office called (the property manager) who told me checkout was 11 which I was fully aware and reminded Linda of the arrangements I’d made upon checkin and instead of acknowledging it repeated to me “checkout is at 11 sir, however as a courtesy this time I will extend till noon” in a very hateful and condescending tone. I left the room at noon and finished my work conference call on my car in the parking lot until after 1pm and during that time no housekeeper entered the room so I assume it wasn’t so urgent they cleaned it... not that they cleaned it anyway. I’ve never been so disgusted by a hotel or offended by hotel staff in any hotel and I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels. I would only stay here if you don’t mind sleeping in bed soiled by guests before you. I have no tolerance for rude or lazy people. The office staff is rude and the housekeepers are lazy so I’m done with Wyndham hotels.

Staff was friendly, close to ASU with a great late night sandwich shop and licquer store'Hangover Hoagies'.2 miles away. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. As one other reviewer stated,the rooms needed a little TLC. I would have rated higher except the bathtub was pretty awful. Clean, but the caulking around the entire tub was moldy and needed recaulking badly. A simple job with some caulk and a razor blade would take about 15 minutes to fix and would make a huge difference in an otherwise decent hotel room. There was really no reason for the tub to be in such a state.

For what I paid, I came away feeling like this was not a good value. Friendly staff, convenient location, and a decent bed are all found here, but the hotel was a rather worn and some fixtures need to be repaired or replaced. Continental B'fast was a little on the slim side with few choices and the front desk person was having to tend to it in addition to running the front desk. A good amount of TLC and other upgrades would go a long way to making this a fair priced value.
