Tubac Golf Resort & Spa

I have traveled the world and stayed at many 5 star resorts. Although this won't be in that same category, I was very pleased. The rooms were large, comfortable and styled to fit the area. The food onsite was very good, although portions were small in some dishes. We spent time in the spa and were extremely pleased with their service. Just a few hours drive from Phoenix, it beats flying! I will be back!

The resort was wonderful and easy to get to from Phoenix. The staff was great and the golf course was amazing. We enjoyed our villa, it was quite comfortable.

We realized upon arrival that the average age in Tubac is 75 and the hotel reflected these demographics. Most of the customers were older. So if you are 20-something and hoping for a party atmosphere, this is not it. However if you want peace and quiet, you have found the ideal hotel. The rooms are little cabanas spread all over the property. We had a suite overlooking the golf course. It was roomy and furnished beautifully with mexican tile and wooden furniture made of mesquite. Because it was old, it wasn't perfectly sealed like a newer hotel would be, so we did find a number of bugs in the room, but we also had a gecko who was taking care of most of them. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area. We had one hiccup, at registration the front desk for some reason thought we were staying only 3 nights instead of 4. Luckily I caught it at check in and the clerk supposedly fixed it. But on day 3, we were locked out of our room after 11 am and had to go to the front desk again to get it fixed. Luckily someone was there and it wasn't a big deal, but if we had gotten back to our room after hours, that would have been a problem.
