La Posada Lodge And Casitas

Twenty years ago I had the privilege to stay at this older, established boutique hotel when a family member got married. It was a wonderful family reunion and La Posada Lodge and Casitas in Tucson was the perfect place to meet up. I've stayed here a few times since, but this past trip I brought my 15 years old daughter with me for the first time on a business trip. Who would have thought we'd be sitting in the same spot on the restaurant lounge terrace taking a photo where my family and I had taken 20 years ago. This hotel is a hidden gem off of the 77 in Tucson. Behind the front parking lot is an oasis of blossoming trees & bushes nestled in a quiet sanctuary with a small sparkling pool. The bar/lounge/restaurant has a nice patio/terrace that overlooks the pool & in the distance the twinkling lights of Tucson. The restaurant and hotel is decorated in classic Mexican decor. The casitas have their own private patio in the back surrounded with bushes & trees with ample space for a small family with a kitchenette. Plus, La Posada Lodge and Casitas is pet friendly for fur babies!! My family and I recently moved to the White Mountains and La Posada Lodge and Casitas will now be our stay-cation when we need a desert fix. The General Manager Javier Cruz and Poala the front desk assistant exhibited stellar hospitality. This hotel is a special place.

My family and I had a rocky start at this hotel. We arrived tired from our drive and the heat. Our first room had not been cleaned. Our second room had not been cleaned. Something about working with a new cleaning staff. The third room was clean. Reception was helpful and apologetic about the dirty rooms. Breakfast was huge and outstanding. Be sure to tip the one lady who runs to the far kitchen and back to keep everything stocked. An unimaginable array of hot and cold food. We did have to ask for fresh towels and for our trash to be taken at the door but housekeeping staff were quick to comply. We did have a true disappoinment when we were hungry in the afternoon. That menu was different and scaled down from the website. We left the hotel several times for more plentiful food options.

Amazing experience the pool was great and management especially Javier was very kind and showed amazing hospitality. Highly recommend!
