I recently stayed at the Brawley Inn Hotel & Conference Center in Brawley, California, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The biggest problem was the noise. From around 4:00 AM onwards, workers staying at the property started making a lot of noise nearby. When you’re staying at a hotel, you expect to be able to sleep through the early morning hours, but that clearly wasn’t the case here. Once I was woken up, it was almost impossible to fall back asleep. The noise didn’t stop there either. The room next door had their TV on all night long, and the walls must be extremely thin because I could hear it constantly. Instead of getting a restful night, I had to listen to someone else’s television for hours. The TV in my own room was frustrating as well. If you want to change channels, you can’t simply type in a channel number or jump directly to what you want. Instead, you have to scroll through every single channel one by one, which is surprisingly annoying and time-consuming. It feels like a very outdated system that should have been fixed years ago. Breakfast was another major let-down. The hotel advertises a complimentary breakfast for guests, but the actual selection was extremely limited. The choices were so minimal that if you don’t like what they happen to offer that morning, you’re basically stuck going hungry. Hotels usually provide at least a few options so guests can start their day properly, but that wasn’t the case here. Overall, between the early morning noise, the constant TV next door, the frustrating television system, and the lack of breakfast options, this stay was far from comfortable. I definitely wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I was booked for 5 nights, but left after 4.
