Two Bunch Palms Resort Spa

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Two Bunch Palms, although it ultimately ended up being a tale of two very different experiences. The grounds, pools, and dining were outstanding, while the room itself was a significant disappointment. -- Property The property is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculately maintained and have a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to switch off. The mineral tubs were undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. We loved that they could be reserved for private use, and during our midweek visit it was surprisingly easy to either secure a reservation or use one if another guest didn't arrive within the 15-minute grace period. It made the whole experience feel much more exclusive and relaxing. -- Service The front desk team also deserves recognition. Every member of staff we interacted with was genuinely warm, welcoming, and helpful. They even accommodated an early check-in at around 2:00 PM, which was greatly appreciated. -- Room Unfortunately, the room was where things fell apart. We stayed in a Desert Suite and found it surprisingly basic, lacking both character and the sense of luxury the resort markets itself around. The stained sofa and ugly, dated cushions looked more at home in a budget motel than a luxury wellness retreat. Small details also felt out of place at this price point, including the single-ply toilet paper and a toilet lid without a soft-close hinge. Every time it accidentally slipped from your hand it slammed shut loudly enough that both we and the guests next door could hear it. Because the adjoining room shared a thin bathroom wall, we could also hear virtually every sound whenever our neighbors used their bathroom (we literally heard groaning, farting, and plopping as they were using their toilet!!), which wasn't exactly the tranquil spa experience we had imagined. The shower products were just ok - quite watery and we never really felt clean after using them. All of that said, the bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The room was honestly such a letdown that it made us question whether we'd return, which is a shame because almost everything else about the property was excellent. -- Food & Drink The restaurant, however, exceeded every expectation. We'd heard before arriving that the food was good, but it was genuinely phenomenal - some of the best food we've had while staying anywhere in California. Every meal we had, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, was exceptional, with consistently high-quality ingredients and beautifully executed dishes. We especially appreciated the all-day brunch menu, which meant we never had to plan our day around when breakfast finished. It allowed us to fully relax and eat whenever we felt like it, which perfectly complemented the pace of the resort. We ended up dining at the restaurant every single day of our stay and never once felt tempted to go elsewhere. Judging by the number of guests we overheard complimenting the food to their servers, we weren't the only ones who felt this way. We also LOVED that you could order food and drinks directly to the tubs by scanning a QR code. The process was seamless, and every order we placed (around 4-5 throughout our stay) arrived impressively quickly - drinks typically within 5-10 minutes and food within 20 minutes. -- Two Bunch Palms gets so much right. The setting is beautiful, the mineral tubs are worth the trip on their own, the staff are genuinely welcoming, and the restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. If the rooms received the same level of attention as the rest of the property, this would easily be one of our favorite resorts in Southern California. We'd happily return for the food, the grounds, and the tubs, but we'd struggle to justify another overnight stay unless the accommodations were significantly improved.

We have stayed at Two Bunch Palms three times, which is why writing this is disappointing. —————— The property is beautiful, but beauty can only carry an experience so far which you feel it immediately. —————— From the moment you arrive, you are on your own to figure things out. —————— Coffee has rules. Food has rules. Pool service has rules. By my third visit, I had adapted so well to the hotel’s inefficiencies that I brought my own water boiler. Unfortunately, getting a mug still required effort. —————— The better concrete tubs require reservations in rigid 60–90 minute windows, while the less desirable ones are first-come, first-served. QR ordering sounds convenient until you realize it comes with hidden workarounds and disconnected processes. Even receiving an Instacart delivery turned into a mini investigation involving the gate, lobby, and bell staff. —————— The staff were generally polite and trying, but they were constantly compensating for a poorly run operation. —————— The biggest irony is that I came here to disconnect from managing complexity at work and in life, yet found myself troubleshooting inefficiencies on vacation. —————— Hospitality used to mean service here which over years shifted to self-service with a tip prompt at checkout.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was truly one of the most amazing experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel welcome, cared for, and completely at ease. A special thank you to Juan, the manager, who went far above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. His kindness, attention to detail, and genuine desire to make every guest happy did not go unnoticed. If you’re looking for a place to completely disconnect from stress and reconnect with yourself, this is it. The atmosphere is peaceful, serene, and designed for relaxation. With no children on the property, it feels like a true sanctuary. The wellness offerings are incredible—from the vortex labyrinth and healing spaces to the massages, pools, and countless opportunities to slow down and recharge. Our room was beautiful, but my biggest recommendation is to splurge on a suite. It elevated our experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Soaking in our private jacuzzi under the stars at night, enjoying the private pools, and having the extra space made the stay feel luxurious, intimate, and incredibly restorative. I also have to mention Jesse, the chef, who created the most unforgettable dining experience throughout our stay. Every meal—from breakfast to lunch to dinner—was absolutely extraordinary. The flavors were unlike anything we’ve experienced, and honestly surpassed many Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve visited. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Combined with the breathtaking views from the restaurant, every meal felt like a special event. This place isn’t just a resort—it’s an experience. We arrived stressed and overwhelmed and left feeling calm, refreshed, and completely renewed. We can’t thank Juan, Jesse, and the entire staff enough for creating such a memorable stay. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend treating yourself to this incredible escape. ❤️✨
