Motel 6 Carson

I would not recommend staying at this hotel, especially as a woman traveling alone. The first night I stayed here, I could have sworn someone tried to enter my room. I was exhausted and assumed maybe I had imagined it because I needed sleep. However, two nights later the same thing happened again. I had just returned to my room and was on the phone with my roommate when I heard the door open. When I looked up, I saw the door closing. I immediately walked into the hallway and saw a man walking away. I called the front desk, and their response was to say I must have lost a key card. That was not true. The next day they changed their explanation and said I must have left my door open, which also was not true. What was most concerning was the complete lack of concern for my safety. Instead of investigating how someone could open a guest room door, the staff dismissed the situation and essentially implied that I was mistaken. For a hotel to have potential security issues like this and show no urgency to address them is extremely troubling. I would strongly caution anyone, especially women traveling alone, before choosing to stay here.

We booked a room for four people through Booking.com with our family. I paid Booking.com immediately upon booking. When we arrived at the motel, the receptionist told us that they had not received my payment from Booking.com and that I had to sort it out myself. They gave me a phone number to call. This seemed very strange because Booking.com is their business partner—why should I be the one to solve this issue? In any case, I didn’t get a room. The Booking.com phone line was busy for a long time. Then, the receptionist called in some “manager,” who offered a “solution”: I could pay again, this time directly to them, and they would refund me if they eventually received the money from Booking.com. However, according to the receptionist, Booking.com might not pay them and could be “messing with the money.” I refused to go along with this. Eventually, the Booking.com line became available, and I was able to explain my issue. They gave me a full refund. I believe this was some kind of scam, and that motel staff are using this tactic to fraudulently extract money from guests.

This Hotel is always very professional and pleasant, clean and I love their location which is across the street from the mall, restaurants, Target, gas stations and freeway. I always stay here when I am in town, I can even leave my car parked and walk to Ikea to shop, its a perfect hotel for someone needing to have any and everything around them.
