Royal Pagoda Motel

On the same day, when I saw the four words "Long Gate Inn" when I searched for a Los Angeles hotel, I already talked to my wife that this would not be a black shop, and that we would gather the rest of Woolin's good guys and cook our meals together. The wife has laughed, and when you are here, you are really the movie "Long Doors Inn". However, when we formally plan the trip, this Royal Pagoda Motel is really the most convenient and affordable. So, we spent a night in Los Angeles and decided to live in Chinatown. The hotel is known as Royal Pagoda Motel. It is a motel. Free parking is also the reason we consider this hotel. However, when I drove in, there was little surprise. Because, the huge Ford Transit Van I opened, both tall, really just enough. Checked the information, the original hotel, once appeared in the movie scene. The live movie "La La Land" was shot at this hotel. As for that scene, maybe to slowly enjoy the movie to taste fine. This hostel, although the appearance is ancient, and very Chinese. But inside is the pattern of the ordinary Western style hotel. Plus, this is the hotel at the Los Angeles Dodgers home stadium of the famous baseball team in Los Angeles. So the entire reception area of the hotel is the flag of the team. We got the key card, we're ready for the room. Our room is on the second floor. And in order to make it easy for us to pick up our luggage directly from the parking lot, we chose the outside stairs on the second floor. When we opened the door, we already saw that it was a clean environment and a fully equipped hostel. There's a fridge, free coffee, two cups of water, both of which are Crystal Geyser brands. TV, small desk, and bone marrow. Didn't think that this hotel was able to provide a small writing space for the guests to hang out. Moreover, the quality of sleep is high enough. Two double beds, enough for our family of four to sleep one night. Let us have a comfortable and energetic evening. Coming to the bathroom, it feels like the half is not old, and its hygiene is also excellent. Although it can only shower, but it is good enough. Since the hotel is located in the Chinatown Street, we walked along to visit Chinatown and look for fun dining places. When we ate a rich meal, then walked around Chinese Street. Returning to the hotel, the hotel was full of red rainbows, which added a mysterious color to the hotel. Comfortable, convenient, service staff although not Chinese (During the day should be a Vietnamese, in the evening should be an Indian), but also attitude courteous, kind enough. Definitely a happy American Night.

Where to start? Parking, you are lucky if you find a place to park. Room, bare essentials, nothing more. Noise, traffic throughout the night. Smell, if you like the constant whiff of marijuana, you'll enjoy this place. Service, bizarre. We rented a room for two nights. When we arrived, I explained that I rented for one night and then then we had a change of plans, I contacted the place we booked through (booking.com) and asked to increase our stay by one night and they said they couldn't do it, that I would have to call Royal Pagoda and asked if we could extend our visit. When I called Royal Pagoda, they said they couldn't book me for an extra night because I had first gone through booking.com. So, I booked through booking.com for the second night without trying to get the same room. When we got to the Royal Pagoda, I explained the whole situation and they said no problem, the room was available to us for the second night. So, we had a sleepless noisy smelly first night and was willing to pass it all off as an interesting experience. We went to Universal Studios the next day and came back exhausted. We tried our key but found it didn't work so we went back to the office, and they gave us a key. When we opened the door, all of our belongings were gone. We thought we had been robbed. We went back to the office and found out that they had our reservation for that night, but the previous clerk did not note what had happened with our reservation and that we were staying. Instead of calling us, they packed up all of our belongings and stowed them away. The clerk had to search for them. It was such a strange feeling to have our belongings packed up like that. No compensation, no real apology just business as usual. I wouldn't recommend staying there because of the lack of consideration for the comfort, safety, and over all experience they provide.

I would avoid the Royal Pagoda at all costs for cancelling my reservation without my consent. Jonathan is incompetent and their manager, Brenda, is unbelievably rude. I booked a 2 night stay with them and due to changes in my itinerary, I was no longer able to make the first night. I called them to notify them of this and I explicitly asked if I could still keep my reservation for the second night. I was informed by one of their employees, Jonathan, that this would be okay. I arrived the next afternoon and was informed by their front office that my entire reservation was cancelled. They said that they “attempted” to reach me that my reservation would be cancelled if I hadn’t checked in by 11AM. There was no record in my phone or email that they had don’t any of that. It turns out, the reservation was cancelled at 8AM that morning. Which means, they didn’t even give me the chance to keep my reservation. The room I had reserved was already sold to someone else so there were physically no rooms left. I got ahold of their manager, Brenda, to explain that I was indeed not communicated and she was completely remorseless about it. She said “too bad. we don’t have to reach out to you. read the “terms”.” No apology offered, no accountability on the fact of Jonathan that despite my communication, was left ignored and disregarded. Completely classless individuals without any professionalism.
