Forest Suites Resort

My wife and I were spending our 15th wedding anniversary in Lake Tahoe. I went over several options before selecting this hotel. It is located conveniently next to downtown, easy to walk to the casinos, restaurants, and concert venue nearby. The hotel has "premium" rooms and for our romantic getaway I opted to book the Honeymoon suite. Its a large room, with a nice bed, fireplace, small kitchenette, and a large bathroom with 2 sinks, separate shower, and a 2 person Jacuzzi tub. If you browse the rooms at this hotel, they have 3 or so of these upgraded rooms but they are not inexpensive. Here are my observations: First off, they charge $20 a night for parking but don't guarantee a space which doesn’t seem right. Fortunately, we’ve been able to park right in front of our unit but for the premier price of the suite I would expect it to be reserved, not “first come, first served” as is indicated. I’m sure I am not the first who’s said this is a problem especially if they were fully booked. The kitchenette needs to be updated – one of the shelves was nearly falling down and we took the cups and glasses off it as a result. The space isn’t all that workable and not enough plugs for what needs them. Housekeeping staff needs to get a little more training. Came back one day and while they cleaned up the place nicely they left the dirty coffee cups and silverware in the sink with water in them. Odd choice. I expected better. Back patio - not private, has a little deck with a view of the shopping parking lot next door. Finally I know every hotel offers a limited breakfast but since it’s a part of the “resort fee” charged I would expect more than just the budget hotel fare offered for free in those establishments. Overall I think those paying premier suite prices at a the resort along with parking and resort fees seems as if you pay a premium without getting the complete value for it. I understand how service businesses work, as I dealt with the public for years, but there are other alternatives in the area for the price we’ve paid. I don't recommend paying for the expensive premium suites so long as they continue to charge the extra fees as it cheapens the value you are expecting you are paying for the price.

Great location, close to restaurants and shops but feels like you're in a forest. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. Anna, who worked at the check in counter was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel offers an exceptional experience, characterized by its prime location, superior service, and spacious guest rooms. The property features a swimming pool and provides convenient access to local attractions, including the gondola station, which is just a two-minute walk away.
