Georgian

We celebrated our dating anniversary on a staycation at the Georgian Hotel. I was excited when this property joined Hyatt, and we were able to book a suite using Hyatt points. We stayed in the Rusconi Suite, which was a one bedroom corner suite that had stunning views of the ocean. Our breakfast in the Sirena was also very lovely with impeccable service. We also liked the free coffee in the Library. There are nice historic touches, such as the bar in the suite where you can press buttons to order drink service. We hope to back soon for another date night or we might bring the kids, who were jealous when they saw the lovely photos of our room.

The location of the hotel is exceptional: it is across the street from the beach, within easy walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier, with many dining places close by, and the area overall felt safe. However, it only offers valet parking, which is $70 per day plus tax. In addition, the hotel is rather old, with old furniture, dark hallways, old rooms, and dated plumbing. While I understand the hotel is aiming for an antique look, this should not translate into old furnishings. The staff were nice and there is nothing bad to say about them. It was just disappointing that this would be considered a Category 6 hotel, and as such, it was difficult to overcome this disappointment.

It was a truly magical experience. If you are considering booking a Hyatt property in LA, this is the one to stay at. The entire experience was amazing from the moment we checked in until our check out. Had dinner in house , meal was excellent and so was breakfast. Can’t wait to return.
