Danny I. at the bellhop desk was the most professional and helpful service employee that I have ever had the pleasure of talking to.

Unfortunately, this was not the experience I expected from a Hilton property. Check-in was a mess. It was well after 4:00 PM and the lobby was chaotic, with guests waiting and clearly frustrated. Things didn’t improve once we got settled. We went to the pool hoping to relax and get something to eat, only to find there were no available chairs or even a place to comfortably sit. We ordered a salad, a wrap, two Cokes, and chips and guacamole, and the bill was over $100. For that price, the food was extremely disappointing. The salad was wilted and poor quality, and the wrap was tiny and consisted mostly of lettuce. The hotel store also being cash only was another unnecessary inconvenience in this day and age. The rooms are also showing their age and are in need of an upgrade. The continental breakfast was average at best and certainly nothing memorable. The one major positive is the location. It is extremely convenient to Universal Studios and the other studios in the area, which is really the only reason I would give this hotel an average rating rather than a poor one. If location isn’t your top priority, I would recommend staying elsewhere. For the price, there are better options with better service, food, rooms, and overall experience.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Hilton Los Angeles / Universal City. Joanne, at the check-in desk was extremely hospitable & professional. She made sure we had an awesome experience. We will definitely return to this hotel during our next visit to Universal Studios!
