KNIGHTS INN MODESTO

We stayed in this hotel from 1 AM to 7 AM in the morning. Though it is a very short stay to review a hotel, I like the room. It was clean and good condition. There is a Denny's opposite to the hotel. There are some nearby grocery stores. Overall, we liked it.

Obviously, this "hotel" had once been quite chic and its new Indian owners had decided to take it down market. Right down. When I entered the reception area, I should have smelt a rat - the whole reception area was like a junkyard and cut off from the receptionist by a high security screen with only the thinnest of slots to allow papers to pass through. The whole place shouted "This is not a very nice part of town". On my way up the filthy steps to my room (which was fine), the view was of Denny's, a parking lot with not many cars and the building site that was probably once the swimming pool. I had sent a few things on ahead to the hotel and they had looked after them well. When I had unpacked them, I went for a walking tour of the area and, within 5 minutes, had been assailed by a screaming man (I ran into a fast food "restaurant" to get to safety) and propositioned by a thin, scruffy and distinctly out-of-this-world woman. I retired to my room, kept an eye on my car and escaped early the next morning.

I stayed with my bf on the 17th because all others we're full because they had lucky fest happening. It was a nice stay. Everything was clean and perfect. I would stay again. Also was really quite. I would recommend this place to anyone. The price was good not to bad.
