NAPA VALLEY HOTEL AND SUITES

Don't know where all these bad reviews are coming from, because we had a positive experience. Yes, the property is old. Looks kinda like a Travelodge from the 1960s. Yes, the rooms are small and the amenities spartan. But we encountered not one speck of dirt, not one bug, zero when it comes to stains or bad odors. Our beds were comfortable and the room surprisingly quiet, given the downtown location. Gary at the front desk is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Okay, it's not a five-star luxury resort, but it's a great place to stay if you're going to a show at the Uptown Theatre.

Absolutely disgusting. The room we were given was shockingly dirty and poorly maintained. The walls had numerous stains, and the back of the entry door was covered with greasy smudges and adult-sized handprints. The upholstered desk chair had a bodily fluid stain in the middle of the seat. Several bathroom floor tiles had long cracks and the grout, which should have been white, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. The headboard above the bed was visibly greasy. There was approximately a 1.5-inch gap beneath the entry door, large enough to let insects or even small rodents inside. To make matters worse, more than a third of the window shutters were broken. The condition of the room was so unsettling that we decided not to stay. Instead of spending the night, we packed up and drove home because we didn't feel comfortable sleeping there. Honestly, it looked more like a place rented by the hour than a downtown Napa hotel. While the front desk service was excellent, it couldn't make up for the unacceptable cleanliness and maintenance issues. I would not recommend this property and would not stay here again.

Convenient, nice and quiet, not overly packed , plenty of restaurants in the area, great gym, secure parking, fuel stations close by
