Getaways At Palm Springs Tennis Club

Great spot, large rooms, good pool area. Domestic staff really friendly and respectful. Unfortunately the receptionist at check in was awful. No interest in her job, dismissive attitude towards guests. Left a real sour taste during an otherwise good holiday. She really let the hotel down. I’ve no doubt the hotel are aware of her rotten attitude, shame they do nothing about it!

Palm Springs Tennis Club is a historic timeshare complex in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. The original property has been in existence since the late 1930s. The bungalows were built first, then came the hotel building, in the early 1960s. In more recent times, a six unit complex, just north of the bungalows was acquired as part of the property. The tennis club property became a timeshare resort in 1980. Our stay was in the section of the resort purchased later. This area has a total of seven units (#357-363), all 2 bedroom and two bath, with two of them being upstairs, requiring a walk up a long flight of steps. I think they might be a bit larger than the original 2 bedroom units on the property. Our unit has a spacious living room and dining area, with a cozy full kitchen adjacent to the dining room. The primary bedroom is large, with a king bed and en suite bathroom, with a shower, but no tub. There is a large walk-in closet in this bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin beds. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combination. The living room and both bedrooms have cable television. There is a nice size deck off the dining room and a smaller deck accessed from the primary bedroom. The property grounds are very well cared for, with colorful plants and flowers throughout. There are a number of spas and pools throughout the property, as well as about a dozen tennis courts. Bicycles are available for loan. The area around Palm Springs is relatively flat, with ample opportunities for sightseeing on bikes. On past visits, we have gotten maps of walking tours around the area, to see some of the homes of old Hollywood stars.

We stayed in a nice condo over the holiday this year. The condo was perfect, great location, a few minutes walk to Spencer's, and had everything we needed supplied in the condo. They even supplied luggage racks in the parking garage making the check in easy. Had a desk area in the large bedroom, 2 TVs and DVD players, a great large balcony with a small dining table, walk in closet, luggage racks, etc. Everything was very convenient! The only thing I was disappointed in was that the tennis pro shop was closed when it was supposed to be open, so I missed getting a t-shirt. We would recommend the Tennis Club condos for a stay in Palm Springs!
