Sportsman Lodge

As with other current reviews, the pride of 34 years of ownership shows. The time capsule down to the brass room key that "Barry" and his wife have maintained is worth a visit. His friendly welcome made our stay even better. The only knock is the tired a/c. It was chilly requiring heat which the unit supplied. Also know that there is a tiled shower without tub. The easy freeway distance made for quitter environment. Plus, the rooms face east and away from I-5. The Wi-Fi and TV worked great. Best of all, dogs are welcome.

You know the feeling of sitting in a restored 1960's car, everything looks as it did back when it first appeared in the showroom? That's how this place looks...a trip back to "long ago." Our room was in perfect shape. The furniture was so wonderfully comfortably and the carpet was spotlessly clean from wall to wall. This was a real gem. The colorful shower tiles were reminders of the retro colors of yesterday...also shiny and clean. The owner was very caring and thoughtful...offering comments on local restaurants and handing menus of many. If this motel avoids "big dollar" buyouts, we will definitely be back and spend another night here...our stay was wonderful! Like that restored car I earlier mentioned, I hope this place remains in the family and continues to be passed down from generation to generation, with the loving care that is so evident.

My family (including pets) have stayed here twice now. Barry and Bonnie are always accommodating and very friendly. It seems like a lot of other motels and hotels in RB have cockroach infestations which is totally unacceptable. Here, you can stay with your beloved beasts for a small fee. They have free wifi, which is pretty fast and have microwave and mini fridge in each room. Good coffee also. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone looking to stay in a safe, clean and affordable place even at last minute. Simply the best!
