Howard Johnson San Bruno

This clean, quiet, well-maintained hotel is probably the best airport hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfy and up to date with good beds with lots of pillows, a fridge, an easy to access ironing board, and plenty of plugs for electronics. The only negative is that Hotel Aura's airport shuttle only runs once an hour, and it is shared with several other hotels, so it sometimes stops along the way. We waited for it for a long time at the airport, exhausted after getting off an 10-hour flight. If you're really eager to get there quickly, consider a rideshare. Otherwise a very good experience. I recommend the Mexican restaurant across the street.

Desk clerk was very helpful and friendly. We had a choice between two queens or one king. The clerk said we could stay the first night in either one and then change if we wished. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Although advertised as a continental breakfast, where I expected nothing more than croissants, Danish and coffee, just had a complete breakfast. You had a choice of eggs, waffles, cereal, yoghurt, toast, juices, bagels and hot oatmeal. The rooms were clean, had a luggage rack (seemingly rare these days), and the thermostat that allow you to blow cold or hot air. Despite having a room that faced the street, it was quiet. The PARKING was free. There's also a shuttle to the airport. The hotel is relatively inexpensive. The rooms also have both a microwave and refrigerator. The only reason for not giving it a five star review was that there's no pool, hot tub or workout room, or USB ports
