Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel

My family and I recently concluded a wonderful family reunion at the Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel in Old Town San Diego, and I wanted to express our sincere appreciation to the outstanding staff who helped make it such a memorable event. Planning a reunion for a large group comes with plenty of moving parts, and from the very beginning, Troy Isaacs, Kelly Therkalsen, and Bailey Brazier were professional, responsive, and genuinely committed to making everything go smoothly. They were always available to answer questions, accommodate requests, and ensure our family felt welcomed throughout the entire process. A special thank you also goes to the banquet staff who served our Thursday evening dinner. They were friendly, attentive, and worked hard to make our event enjoyable for everyone. Their service was excellent, and they contributed greatly to the warm atmosphere of the evening. I had hoped to add to the banquet service charge in recognition of the exceptional service we received, but due to several last-minute family cancellations, our reunion budget changed unexpectedly. I hope this review serves as a small token of my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding job the entire team did. Absolutely atrocious. I won't be back until the crew that was working there June 7th 2026 are fired. I was treated awful but everyone there speaking Spanish was greeted with a smile and friendliness and tons of conversation. I waited for 4hrs for the bell hop to bring my bags to my room. They gave me attitude the one time I went down to ask about my bags at the 2hr mark. Only for her to condesendingly tell me the bell hop was at the airport like I was supposed to know that information. The second time I went to check was at the 4hr mark only to be greeted by the bell hop. Who told me that the two ladies at the front desk said to leave the bags for maintenence whatever that means. Then I had to convince him to help me with the bags to my room. His attitude was somewhat kind but definitely not in the mood to help me. He helped carry the bags to the 1st floor but I'm staying on the second floor. I'm a 45yr old disabled veteran with multiple combat tours with more physical problems than you can shake a stick at. The condescending and rude way I was treated will not go unchecked. And I'll refuse to stay here again after this stay. I hope their hourly wage is worth more than my lifetime patronage.

This was a wonderful hotel! The location was unbeatable… Right in the area of old town, which has loads of restaurants, shops, and activities. The hotel restaurant was excellent and had one of the best hotel buffets ever! We enjoyed several meals overlooking the city and watching the sunset. Staff was incredibly attentive and delightful. Large rooms, great amenities and a beautiful setting! Highly recommend.
