Coronado Island Marriott Resor

Very disappointing stay at Marriott Coronado , glad we just stayed overnight. Compared to the Sheraton in Harbor Island which was 5 stars this i would give 1 star due to Diego at front desk. first of all they had someone manning the marriott bonvoy check in counter that probably needs more customer service training? wifi and complementary waters no mention, for the 3 request or questiins I asked all i was told was no, no, no. Now if you ever been to service traningns 3 no’s in a row to a customer is just not said. Anyways facility was filthy and old , the rooms were okay but ware not really stay in the room people. This is just not a property we will come back to .

We were lied to and felt discriminated by hostess Beth! Recently stayed for a birthday weekend celebration with family. We booked rooms with breakfast buffet included. Our stay was going well until our last day, July 27th when 4 of us went for breakfast. 8am slow Monday morning and only a few people having breakfast. Beth, the hostess gave my family a table half shaded from the sun. Since there weren’t a lot of people, we politely pointed a fully shaded table and requested if we can go there instead. Beth stated she can’t give it to us because “it’s reserved”. No signage on the table though. We then asked for the table next to it being cleaned and Beth responded, “ I can’t give you that either, the waiter is behind. It’s going to take a while”. We said ok, we will wait”. It’s a self serve buffet at 8am with only about 3-4 tables occupied and there were about 3 waiters going around so we wonder how can it be behind this early? But ok, we said we will wait. It didn’t take long for us to get seated though. While we were having breakfast, 4 nice people got seated to the table we initially wanted. They were white. We asked them if they reserved the table. The response” No, it was just given to us when we came.” Asians like us, how do you think this made us feel? It’s upsetting that up to now there’s still people like Beth.

When family comes in to visit Coronado, they always stay at the Marriott. When we have dinner or drinks here at the restaurant they ALWAYS take forever. I can by on a normal day since I love next door for a Coronado Burger thinking that it isn’t a busy weekend and that I should get my food at a decent time. I waited an HOUR and 23 minutes to get ONE burger. Keep in mind the bar and restaurant had maybe a total of 9 people seated.
