Manchester Grand Hyatt

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Very clean with easy access to public transportation and close to a variety of restaurants and shops

My husband and I enjoyed our one-night stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in August of 2026. We went to attend our first concert at the Rady Shell, which is within walking distance. We received a lovely renovated room on a high floor with a beautiful view of the Embarcadero, the Bay, the Coronado Bridge, Coronado Island, and all the way to Mexico and east to the Laguna Mountains. So awesome! We had Club Room Access (not sure why I used it for a one-night stay!). The evening service (usually appetizers) included a nice salad bar, pasta, salmon cakes, and beef tips with pasta. All very tasty! The Club closed the next day due to construction after a short breakfast (7 to 9:30). We asked for a late 2 o'clock checkout and went to the pool on the third floor. I'm glad we went early because the other pool was closed for renovations, and the third-floor pool got crowded early. We enjoyed spending time reading and eating lunch at the pool before we checked out. The food at the pool was good, but I think some logistics need to be worked out. For example, the burger delivered to the person sitting next to me was wrong, and a new burger was supposed to be delivered, but it wasn't. The person helping the customer (perhaps a manager), took care of the problem and bought that party a round of drinks. She was very attentive to that group. We ordered a mini wedge and carne asada street tacos. Our wedge was not mini. It included a whole head of lettuce, quartered. It was good, but we couldn't eat it all. In addition, we were brought chicken for our wedge salad, which we didn't order. It was good too! About 10 minutes into our meal, a server came out with another order of a wedge salad and tacos, but without the chicken. It seems the communication in the kitchen is poor. I'm happy our food was good. Overall, a nice morning and early afternoon at the pool before checking out. Being able to check out with the Hyatt app is a benefit.

Way too overcrowded. Took 45 minutes to check, 40 minutes to get your car from valet and a line every time to go up and down the elevator. When we checked out we waited for 6 elevators coming down but they were so full we had to take the stairs down with our luggage 14 floors! Just crazy amount of people and lines everywhere you looked.
