The hotel is a very grand , old hotel with an impressive lobby. However, the rooms are tired and rather shabby . The mini bar is locked and unavailable & there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. There is a water machine in reception, available 24 hours and complimentary coffee in the morning. Staff are friendly and the breakfast good.

Great, historic hotel at the top of Nob Hill. Rooms are older and could use an updating, but the bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet. The location is great, but you're going to have to walk up and down the hill to get anywhere. Worth staying here if for no other reason than going up to the Top of the Mark and get you a drink. (You don't need to stay there for that). Otherwise, the hotel seemed a bit understaffed, but the stop was accommodating.
As a Diamond Ambassador, I expect to get everything that I'm owed without asking, and I did. To me, this is huge. Too bad IHG doesn't have more upscale hotels in the US.

Some years since we have stayed there, but still one of the best. Great location and view from room over the city was awesome. Bit dated in places, but undergoing renovation at the moment.
