I stayed the night maybe three nights at San Mateo SFO Airport Hotel when the green ribbon ceremony beginning opening. Beautiful and delight to stay there. The rooms were perfect for business use and to invite for business discussion.

ATTENTION HEALTH HAZARD WITH MOLD HERE. Horrible stay & dirty hotel. We should have picked the Holiday Inn express next door. Everything in this town is expensive and overpriced. The price alone for what you get at this hotel is ridiculous. MOLD in bathroom ( see the pictures ). Little closet that you have to turn your clothes sideways just so the door closes. No people at the front desk when we checked in, we had to walk across to the Holiday Inn to check in. JOKE! Also, rude staff that rolled her eyes when we walked down for the pitiful breakfast in the morning. All annoyed that have to do their job and actually work. Was told the breakfast was served until 11 ( not actually 6-9 ). Avoid this dirty disgusting hotel is my best advice.

Not a great start... called in the morning to say we’d be needing a hotel shuttle pickup from the airport around a certain time and were told to just call from the airport phone when we arrived, as the service is “on demand”. However when we did that we were told we had just missed a shuttle as they are (“scheduled”) on the half hour. We then ended up having to wait more than one hour for the hotel shuttle pickup with no explanation. On arrival Receptionist said our experience to date had nothing to do with her! As we had a few hours of daylight left we asked if she had a map of the local area, (she didn’t but did offer a map of San Francisco City..... which had absolutely no relevance to where we were) The only place available to eat (within walking distance) was at a neighbouring Holiday Inn, any other eating options were at least three miles away. We did leave hotel for a walk and on returning the receptionist peered over her glasses but didn’t bother to greet us. The place is quite run down and felt like a characterless motel complete with a noisy through the wall air conditioning unit. On a positive note the shuttle bus driver (from American Samoa) who delivered us back to the airport the following morning was a delightful ray of sunshine.
