Doubletree Hotel San Pedro

Omgsh!! I stayed here the night before our cruise. Smooth check in rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable beds will be returning.

Don’t bother. I booked as it had a cruise port shuttle and good reviews. When I arrived, they had given away the room I booked meaning I would need to share a bed with my daughter, not a big deal, but we had book many months in advance for 2 beds. When we got to the room, it had a disgusting odour of cigarette smoke. We went back to the desk and got another room. We weren’t able to use the cruise shuttle as it was already booked. Ridiculously expensive for a maybe 2 star hotel. Don’t bother.

I'm a hilton diamond member and have stayed at numerous hotels. The hotel is good in that is close to a beach. Rooms are fair, a bit tired but overall ok. However, when I got takeout from the restaurant there was a mandatory 20% gratuity and the server was very rude. When I escalated to the manager, they said it's a LA law that all restaurants must charge 20% gratuity, even for take out. Which is false. Unhappy that I was lied to and forced to pay gratuity for a rude server for takeout.
