Motel 6 Santa Barbara - State Street

Very small room overall all convenient, shame the wifi little or nothing

ok motel 6- i dropped money out of my 'travel pouch' - the check in clear scored about $170 for themselves... their lucky day!

Avoid this Motel 6 on State Street in Santa Barbara – terrible customer service and disappointing rooms. I recently stayed here and honestly regretted it from the moment I walked in. The front desk staff was extremely rude right from check-in. I politely asked for a ground-floor room and early check-in, but one employee was already short with me, and the next guy (older Latino man with gray hair) started yelling at us multiple times for no reason. He refused to look us in the eye, ignored that we'd been waiting patiently, and even tried helping people who arrived after us. When I asked him to stop yelling and just apologize, he refused. Other guests in the lobby were shaking their heads in disbelief. It was embarrassing and completely uncalled for. The room was just as bad. Super small and cramped with almost no space to move around. No microwave, no fridge (they used to have both when this place first opened), and the bathroom was dirty with stains everywhere. It was loud from all directions – you could hear everything. In the morning, there was nothing but coffee. No continental breakfast or anything. I’ve stayed here years ago when it was newer and much better, but this time it felt run-down and the service was off the wall. If you're looking for a clean, quiet, and friendly place to stay in Santa Barbara, I’d definitely skip this Motel 6. Not worth the hassle or the stress. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. Attaching a photo of the employee who was yelling at us.
